Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 2026 — revised to reflect Google Analytics

What we collect

When you sign the nOS Manifesto, we collect:

  • Full name — displayed publicly on the signatories page, unless you choose to sign anonymously.
  • Email address — collected for verification purposes only. It is never published, displayed, or shared.
  • Affiliation (optional) — displayed publicly alongside your name if provided.
  • Reason for signing (optional) — displayed publicly only if you explicitly check "Share my reason publicly."

We collect nothing else. There is no account, no login, and no tracking profile attached to your submission.

How we use it

Your name (or "Anonymous") and optional affiliation appear on the public signatories page as a record of agreement with the nOS Manifesto. Your email address is retained solely to allow us to identify your record if you contact us to request deletion.

We do not use your information for marketing, advertising, or any commercial purpose. We do not sell, rent, or share your information with any third party.

Data storage

Signatory data is stored in Supabase, a cloud database provider. Supabase infrastructure is hosted on AWS and complies with GDPR and standard data security practices. Data is stored in the United States.

Your rights

You have the right to:

  • Request a copy of the data we hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate information
  • Request deletion of your record from the signatories list

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at privacy@nosproject.org. We will respond within 30 days.

Cookies and analytics

This site uses Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to collect anonymous traffic data — pages visited, general geographic region, device type, and referral source. This helps us understand how the site is being used.

Google Analytics sets cookies (primarily _ga and _ga_*) that persist for up to 2 years. These cookies do not identify you personally and are not used for advertising or retargeting. The data is processed by Google LLC and may be stored on servers in the United States.

You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking at any time by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on, or by using a browser extension that blocks tracking scripts.

We do not use any other cookies, advertising networks, or third-party tracking tools.

Children

This site is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the site after any change constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
